Information on Amitabh Ji’s birth and family

Big B ( Amitabh Bachchan Ji) was born in the family of famous poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan family on October 11, 1942, in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh in a Kayastha family. Amitabh Ji`s mother’s name is Teji Suri who was a Punjabi woman and the second wife of Harivashrai Bachchan Ji, because of the death of his first wife due to T.B.

By birth, he resembled his grandfather Pratapnarayan Shrivastava Ji. Because of his face and his gestures, his father gave him the name Inquilab which means revolution. Later on, his father’s poet friend gave him the name of her choice Amitabh Bachchan. He has one younger brother whose name is Ajitabh Bachchan. His real surname was Srivastava, his father changed it to Bachchan, the same as confirmed by Bachchan Ji himself. Big B says that his Babuji (Harivansh Rai) was fondly called Bachcha Bachchan at home, so he chose this as his surname and since then his surname became Bachchan.

Amitabh Ji married Jaya Bachchan on June 3, 1973. They have two kids elder one is Shweta Bachchan and the younger is Abhishek Bachchan.  Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is his daughter-in-law and his granddaughter`s name is Aaradhya Bachchan.

He was seriously injured during the shooting of the film Coolie in 1982, for which his fans prayed a lot and he got well but he stopped working here.
