Gyaras Vrat/Ekadashi: According to the Hindu calander two type of Gyaras Vrat is observed in every month, one is Shukla Paksha and one is Krishana Paksha. People worship Ekadashi fast to please Lord Vishnu so that they removing their sorrows. 26 different type of Ekadashi fast are observed in the year, they all have their own purpose and meaning, which you can read from the below given link:

Dates of Purnima Vrat:
According to Hindu panchang there are two pakshas are (Shukla-Krishna). Which are between new moon to full moon and full moon to new moon. Thus there are 12 full moon in every year. The worship of SatyaNarayan Dev is celebrated this day. This day is a full moon day and if any one do fast is observed a positive results.
